FORUM PLANNED FOR OREGON HOUSE AND SENATE CANDIDATES

The Linn County Unit of the League of Women Voters of Oregon will hold a forum for the candidates for Oregon House District 11 and Oregon Senate District 6 on Tuesday, April 21, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lebanon First United Methodist Church. All are welcome to attend.

There are three candidates for House District 11 and four for Senate District 6. All have been invited to speak at the forum. The House candidates are Ivan Maluski, from Scio; Ken Jackola, from Lebanon; and Angelita Sanchez, from Sweet Home. The Senate candidates are Nicole De Graff, from Marcola; Jack Tibbets, from Cottage Grove; Sierrah Williams, from Sweet Home; and Jami Cate, from Lebanon.

Scott Swanson, editor and publisher of the New Era, will serve as moderator for the forum.

The First United Methodist Church is at 1890 South Second Street, Lebanon, at the corner of Airport Road. The forum will take place in the church’s fellowship hall.

Citizens must be both registered to vote and affiliated with a party to vote in a primary election. April 28 is the last day to register, choose a party, or change one’s party. Those eligible to vote but not yet registered, and those who are registered but unaffiliated with a party, will have enough time after the forum to secure their right to vote in the primary.

The mailing of ballots will begin April 29. May 19 is the last day to return ballots.
